‘Internal chatter’ surrounding Fairgame$ reportedly “very positive”

Following the announcement that the live-service PlayStation Studios title ‘Concord’ is being removed from stores due to its immediate financial failure, many have wondered what this means for PlayStation’s other previously-announced live-service games. According to one industry insider, the Haven Studios-developed PvP heist shooter Fairgame$ has had “very positive” internal impressions.

As reported by known insider Christopher Dring during the Gamesindustry.biz podcast “I've heard good things about Jade Raymond's game, is it Fairgame$, I've heard good things about that.”

Dring continued, “I know people who are a bit sceptical about the trailer, but I've heard internal chatter is very positive about it.”

Of course, internal chatter doesn’t necessarily correlate to a good or successful game. As mentioned, the recently-released Concord was a massive flop, despite PlayStation’s confidence in the project – so much so that they acquired the studio prior to the announcement of their game.

Fairgame$ is in a similar situation; being a live-service game developed by a new studio which was also acquired prior to their first title even being officially shown off.

Unlike Concord however, Fairgame$ is said to be a heist-styled multiplayer title, and so it may have enough going for it to succeed. We will have to wait and see.
