Analysts estimate Concord has sold a mere 25,000 copies

In a recent industry assessment, it has been estimated that Concord, Sony's troubled multiplayer hero shooter, may have only sold around 25,000 copies across all platforms. The game has faced widespread criticism since its announcement, garnering a lackluster response and reaching a peak player count of around 700 on Steam.

Presently, the player base for Concord on Steam has dwindled to 82 individuals. According to an analysis by Circana, “fewer than 0.2% of active PS5 gamers” were engaging with the title at the time of its release. Sales figures obtained by IGN suggest that approximately 10,000 copies of Concord were sold on Steam, meaning the remaining 15,000 units of the estimated total 25K sold are for PlayStation 5.

Mat Piscatella from Circana highlighted the key issues behind Concord's underwhelming performance, attributing it to “low awareness and buy intent among video game players”. Moreover, the analyst also stated that the game's lack of an established fan base necessitated a robust marketing strategy, which it seemingly lacked.

Furthermore, the game faced challenges in terms of promotion, with its first trailers released only a few months before its launch. With a relatively high price point, Concord struggled to compete with the success of free-to-play games in the current market.
