Corsair officially launches new RMx Shift PSUs with repositioned power connectors

Following on from a leak a few weeks ago, today Corsair is launching its new RMx Shift series power supplies. These units stand out from the crowd for a very specific reason, the connector panel has been moved to the opposite side, allowing users to connect and directly route their cables at the back of the case.

As you would expect from a newly launched PSU, these units are ATX 3.0 compliant, making them ideal for new PC builds. Modular connections have been moved to the side, and the cables included with the PSU are Corsair Type 5 Gen 1 micro-fit cables, which are easy to connect and detach, and thanks to the repositioned panel, there will be less bending or twisting of the cables.

For cooling, the RMx Shift series power supplies use a 130mm fluid dynamic bearing fan with a specially calculated fan curve to deliver low noise while keeping temperatures in check. These units are also 80 PLUS Gold and Cybenetics Gold-certified, allowing for up to 90% efficiency.

There will be four Corsair RMx Shift PSUs at launch – the RM750x Shift ($150/£160), the RM850x Shift ($160/£175), the RM1000x Shift ($210/£220) and the RM1200x Shift ($270/£260).
