Intel's 12th Gen Core ‘Alder Lake' CPUs are still a decent upgrade for many, and it would seem that Intel's previous-gen processors will soon be available at cheaper prices. According to sources, Intel is planning to reduce the MSRP by around 20%.
According to DigiTimes (via @harukaze5719), Intel is talking with its partners to drop the pricing of the 12th Gen Core processors, from the entry-level Core i3 CPUs all the way up to the flagship Core i9 chips. If the price cut is executed, we'll see the lower-end chips drop by $20-30. However, for the higher-end ones, we'll see price reductions of over $100.

After a quick price check of the Intel 12th Gen Core chips on Amazon US, you'll see that these CPUs are already being sold considerably below their MSRP. So, the alleged price cut may not have a significant impact in some regions.
Intel's reaction to cut prices may be connected to the slowing down of the PC market. To fight this, AMD, Intel and Nvidia have been lowering the price of some of their products to bolster sales.
