Sonic Colours finally comes to Steam following Epic Games exclusivity

Back in late 2021, 2010’s Sonic Colours received a much-anticipated remaster in the form of Sonic Colours Ultimate. At the time, the game’s PC release was limited to the Epic Games Store. Finally, more than a year after its launch, Sonic Colours Ultimate is finally available on Steam.

Making the announcement on Twitter, the official Sonic the Hedgehog page said “Surprise! Sonic Colors: Ultimate is available on Steam NOW!” Alongside this surprise launch, Sonic Colours Ultimate is currently listed on Steam for 30% off as a launch discount promotion, bringing the game down from £34.99 to a much more palatable £24.49.

Sonic Colours Ultimate released in September 2021 to less-than-stellar reviews. While the creative choices made with the remaster seemed to be hit-or-miss depending on the player, what was unanimous was the fact that the game’s technical performance was a mess.

At launch, Sonic Colours Ultimate suffered from some pretty big issues, including major graphical problems, glitches, sound issues, and so much more. Fortunately, most of these bugs have since been fixed, and so if you were wanting to give Sonic Colours Ultimate a try, now is a good time to do so. Hopefully more Epic Games Store exclusives find their way onto Steam.
