MiHoYo (now known as Hoyoverse) hit it big in 2020 when they released Genshin Impact, making billions every year since and establishing the developers as ones to watch out for. The team’s next game following Genshin Impact is the turn-based RPG ‘Honkai: Star Rail’ and while no official release date has been announced, a new leak seems to suggest it will arrive in the final week of April.
For the uninitiated, Honkai Star Rail was first announced in late 2021 and is an upcoming free-to-play turn-based strategy RPG which follows on from Hoyoverse’s other Honaki titles (the most recent of which was 2016’s Honkai Impact 3rd).
Announced to be coming to PC as well as Android and iOS, Honkai: Star Rail has conducted multiple closed beta tests – with one shortly following the game’s announcement and a second beta in mid-2022.
Now, ahead of the 3rd closed beta, Honkai: Star Rail’s release date seems to have leaked thanks to the Apple App Store listing which now states that the game is expected to officially launch on the 26th of April 2023 (as discovered by ResetEra user DNAbro).
Of course, this could change, and we still have to wait for an official announcement from Hoyoverse themselves, but if this is indeed the game’s release date then it will be interesting to see how Honkai: Star Rail performs in a post-Genshin Impact world.
