Each year, Nintendo typically hosts a big Q1 Direct stream, announcing a number of key titles for the first half of the year. This evening, Nintendo went live once again, unveiling its plans for the first half of 2023, starting with Pikmin 4.
Pikmin 4 was previously announced but Nintendo has been tight-lipped on a release date. The game will finally be hitting Switch later this year on the 21st of July.
Unfortunately, the gameplay did look a bit rough. The Switch has begun to show its age in a number of its high-profile releases, with titles often struggling to maintain a steady 30FPS.
Graphically, the game did look rough and with so many Pikmin on screen at once, we did notice frame drops and half-rate animations. With that said, it is never a good idea to judge a game's graphics or performance solely on a livestream or trailer.
