Hogwarts Legacy early access nears 500,000 concurrent players on Steam

Those who pre-ordered the Deluxe Edition of Hogwarts Legacy on PC and console have had the chance to play the game for a couple of days now. As it turns out, the game is doing very well and is already breaking records ahead of its official release date.

Hogwarts Legacy has already set the Twitch record for most concurrent viewers on a single game. While the game is pulling in huge numbers with free-to-view streams, a lot of people are also buying and playing the game. It would seem that millions of people payed the extra money to pre-order the deluxe edition to play the game early.

Hogwarts Legacy has peaked at just under 500,000 concurrent players on Steam. At the time of writing, just under 400,000 people are concurrently playing the game. Assuming usual industry trends, this figure is likely even larger on consoles, equalling a mind-boggling number of deluxe edition pre-orders.

Hogwarts Legacy is still in early access, but the game will become available to all starting tomorrow. In April, the game will also release for last-gen Xbox One and PS4 systems, and in June, the game should release on Nintendo Switch.
