Hi-Fi Rush easter egg seems to confirm The Evil Within 3

Tango Gameworks surprised us all last month with the sudden announcement and release of Hi-Fi Rush, the studio's first Xbox-exclusive title. Now that players have had a chance to explore the world, easter eggs are starting to be discovered, including one that seems to confirm The Evil Within 3.

As spotted by Games Radar, towards the end of Hi-Fi Rush during one of the game's penultimate cinematic scenes, you can briefly see a news bulletin on screen. This bulletin reads “News: Sequel to popular survival horror franchise announced”. You can see the easter egg for yourself in this playthrough on YouTube, but do be careful of spoilers, after all, the easter egg does appear near the very end of the game.

Alternatively, you can just look at this screengrab of the easter egg in question:

While this isn't an official announcement for The Evil Within 3, it does seem to indicate that Tango Gameworks is developing it. The easter egg could also potentially be referring to a Ghostwire Tokyo sequel, but while that game has its spooky moments, it isn't a true survival horror adventure like The Evil Within 1 and 2.

The Evil Within 2 launched all the way back in 2017, so we are long overdue a return to this series. Interestingly, the studio revealed in an interview with GameSpot last year that Ghostwire began life as an Evil Within sequel, before being spun off into its own IP. With that in mind, The Evil Within 3 does seem to be something that Tango Gameworks has been working towards for quite some time.

KitGuru Says: The Evil Within 1 and 2 were both great games, and with survival horror making a big comeback in recent years, we could see The Evil Within 3 garnering quite a bit of excitement.
