Multiple LEGO games reportedly cancelled after years of development

For nearly two decades now TT Games has made a name for itself thanks to the team’s work on the LEGO games franchise – having developed dozens over the years. Despite the success of their most recent title (LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga) a new report has revealed that in an unfortunate state of circumstances, 4 of the studio’s in-development projects have now been cancelled – including a Guardians of the Galaxy game.

As reported by NintendoLife, TT Games have had 4 of their projects cancelled. ‘Project Marley’ was said to be a Disney Infinity-styled experience in that players would be able to explore multiple Disney worlds and play as a whole host of characters ranging from a bunch of Disney IP including but not limited to Jungle Book, Nightmare Before Christmas, Pirates of the Caribbean, Maleficent, Muppets, Frozen, Toy Story and Winnie the Pooh. Project Marley was in development for 4 years.

Unfortunately, TT Games’ biggest ongoing project was not the only one to get canned, as 3 more titles have reportedly now been cancelled. ‘Project Cosmic’ was said to be a LEGO game based on the popular Guardians of the Galaxy franchise which had been in the works for 18 months prior to its cancellation.

‘Project Rainbow Road’ was reportedly a non-LEGO branded shooter which would feature a whole host of Warner Bros. IP including DC, Rick and Morty, Looney Tunes as well as Netflix’s Stranger Things. Finally, ‘Project LEGO X’ was said to be a mobile port of the popular LEGO Worlds game – though this too has now been cancelled.

With so many projects falling to the wayside, hopefully TT Games are able to get their groove back – especially as the team are undeniably talented.
