PlayStation State of Play announced for this Thursday

Last week we reported that a PlayStation State of Play was supposedly set to take place at some point before the conclusion of the month. With one week left, Sony has now officially revealed that a State of Play is set to go live this Thursday, the 23rd of February – bringing with it 3rd-party reveals, an extended look at Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League and more.

Making the announcement on the PlayStation Blog, Brett Elston, the Senior Manager for Content Communications at SIE revealed that “State of Play returns with its first show of 2023! Get ready for new looks at some anticipated games from our third-party partners, as well as a first glimpse at five PlayStation VR2 games set to arrive later this year. Then, settle in for more than 15 minutes of all-new gameplay details and updates on Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, the next game from Rocksteady Studios.”

The State of Play will go live at 9PM GMT this Thursday the 23rd of February and while we do not yet know exactly how long the stream will last, the fact that it will include 15 minutes dedicated to Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League seems to suggest that it will be on the lengthier end of the State of Play spectrum.

While it looks like we won’t be getting any major first-party announcements, State of Plays typically feature at least a couple surprises, and so we will have to wait and see what is in store when the showcase goes live.
