No Man’s Sky is the gift that keeps on giving. Following the game’s somewhat disastrous launch, Hello Games have hunkered down and continually updated the game entirely for free for over 6 years – turning No Man’s Sky into far more than was ever promised. The team seemingly has no intention of slowing down either, as they have now announced the latest ‘Fractal Update’.
As with pretty much every other No Man’s Sky update, patch 4.1 – the Fractal Update – brings with it a whole host of improvements as well as a great deal of additional content, with the team saying:
“Completely immerse yourself in an infinite universe with No Man’s Sky update 4.1, FRACTAL! Introducing a catalogue of your most incredible discoveries, a huge number of quality of life and accessibility improvements, gyroscopic control support, full support for PlayStation VR2, and much more!”
As always, the full list of changes is extensive, but for our purposes, some of the most notable additions include:
- New ‘Utopia’ Expedition
- New ‘Wonders’ section in Catalogue breaking down your many discoveries
- Colour grading for HDR displays has been completely reworked
- Full PSVR2 support with improved visuals
- VR overhaul
- Enhanced options menu
- New visual effects
- Dynamic Resolution Scaling on PS5
- Motion controls
- Gameplay customisations including left-handed character model and more
- Quality of Life improvements
With every No Man’s Sky update it feels as though Hello Games have overhauled the title – and patch 4.1 is no different. The No Man’s Sky Fractal Update is available right now and the full patch notes can be found HERE.
