Last night during Sony's State of Play stream, Larian Studios made a surprise appearance with a new trailer for Baldur's Gate 3, confirming that the game will release on PlayStation later this year. While no Xbox version has been confirmed yet, Larian founder, Swen Vincke, seems to be hinting that the game will head to other consoles too.
Larian typically hasn't engaged with console exclusives and its other major RPGs, like Divinity: Original Sin, have released across all major platforms. Following on from last night's PlayStation announcement for Baldur's Gate 3, it looked like that might be changing, but according to Larian's Swen Vincke, the studio isn't “playing the exclusivity game”.
The message harkens back to an earlier statement from Larian Studios. When Baldur's Gate 3 was first announced years ago, Vincke told IGN that Larian would not “participate in the exclusivity game” after bringing Baldur's Gate 3 to Stadia. Funnily enough, Stadia, Google's ill-fated cloud gaming service, shut down last month before Baldur's Gate 3 could leave early access.
Baldur's Gate 3 is currently due to release in August 2023.

KitGuru Says: We still don't know if Baldur's Gate 3 will release on Xbox at the same time as PlayStation and PC, but it sounds like the game will be heading to non-PlayStation consoles too, even if it does take a little longer.
