Nintendo confirms it is skipping E3 this year

The early rumours about the big three gaming companies missing E3 2023 were accurate. Like Sony and Microsoft, Nintendo is also skipping this year's E3 event. The confirmation comes from the company, which stated that despite not being present at the event, it would keep supporting ESA.

According to Nintendo's statement shared by IGN, the company approaches its participation at every event on a case-by-case basis and is always examining various ways to interact with fans. Still, Nintendo decided not to participate in E3 2023 because it didn't fit its plans. However, the company is and will continue to support E3 and the ESA.

Taking Nintendo into account, we already have three major publishers dropping from E3 (Microsoft and Sony are the other two). However, the Redmond-based company is expected to host a summer showcase in Los Angeles. We're still unsure whether this event will be around the time E3 is running.

Ubisoft has been the only big publisher to confirm its presence at E3. Other publishers, like EA, should say something in the next few weeks/months.

KitGuru says: Although Nintendo won't be in this year's E3, it may return to the event next year, assuming E3 can bounce back from its recent down years.
