Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is getting delayed to Q4

It has only been a couple of weeks since Rocksteady's gameplay reveal for Suicide Squad. That reveal drew plenty of criticism and now, it looks like Rocksteady is going to delay the game to later in the year.

While Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League was supposed to release on the 26th of May, Jason Schreier reports that Rocksteady has internally delayed the game to Q4 2023. Additionally, Jeff Grubb reports that the game could slip further into 2024.

The delay hasn't been announced publicly yet and no official reason for it has been given. However, given the length of the delay, it would suggest that Rocksteady is just getting some extra time for polish and bug fixing.

With that in mind, don't expect a huge overhaul of the game to address criticisms of the live service model. It is far too late for Rocksteady to steer in a different direction at this point.

KitGuru Says: While I'm sure a live-service DC game could be done well, I'm not sure Suicide Squad is the best choice of IP for such a game and this type of game is also a far cry from what Rocksteady fans wanted next for the Akrhmaverse. Hopefully this delay helps a bit, but I'm not sure it will do well in a crowded Q4 season.
