Announced back at the 2022 Game Awards, Crime Boss: Rockay City is an organised crime game blending first-person shooting and turf war mechanics, featuring an all-star cast including the likes of Michael Madsen, Michael Rooker, Danny Trejo and Kim Basinger – to name a few. Coming to PC via the Epic Games Store later this month, Crime Boss: Rockay City is confirmed to be exclusive to Epic’s platform for well over a year.
Digital Bros is an Italian video game company responsible for a number of subsidiaries including the well-known publisher 505 Games. As shared by industry analyst ‘MauroNL’ Digital Bros recently released their latest fiscal reports revealing that following its launch on the Epic Games Store on the 28th of March 2023, Crime Boss: Rockay City will be heading to consoles – coming a few months later in June 2023.
Interestingly (though perhaps unsurprisingly), Steam users will have to wait an additional year after the console release of the game, meaning those wanting to play the game via Valve’s platform will be waiting all the way until June 2024 – 15 months following its initial PC release.
In recent years we have seen the rate of games being made Epic Games Store exclusive decline – though it is clear that the practice is still part of Epic’s strategy. Exclusivity aside, it will be interesting to see what the reception to Crime Boss: Rockay City is when the game launches on the 28th of March.
