Over the past month or so, we have seen an increasing number of leaks and rumours claiming that the long-awaited PlayStation 5 Pro is set to be officially unveiled sometime this month. Now, thanks to one insider, it appears as though the announcement could be as early as next week.
As reported by known PlayStation State of Play leaker ‘Lunatic Ignus’ via their Discord server (and shared by Reddit user Specialist_Phase9494), PlayStation is set to hold a “big announcement” some point next week, followed by a State of Play on either the 19th or 20th of September.
While not outwardly stated to be the PS5 Pro announcement, all evidence points to this being the case, with an increasing number of leaks and rumours claiming an official reveal is planned for this month.
Previously, it was believed that the PS5 Pro would be shown off during the State of Play itself, but it seems as though Sony is planning some sort of dedicated event for the console prior to the showcase – likely then going into more details on the console’s support during the State of Play itself.
Of course, with the event almost certainly being an online-only affair, the planned announcement dates could change between now and then – but it is safe to say that soon enough we will have official confirmation and details on the years-long PS5 Pro rumours.
