It has been roughly one year since Tango Gameworks released Ghostwire: Tokyo on PS5 and PC. Now with Sony's timed console exclusivity deal coming to an end, Microsoft has announced plans to bring the game to Xbox consoles and Game Pass.
Ghostwire: Tokyo will release on Xbox Series X/S, and will join the Game Pass library for console and PC, on the 12th of April. Beyond that, the game is getting a content update known as ‘The Spider's Thread', promising to deliver new story content, a new game mode and more.
The Spider's Thread update won't be exclusive to any one platform, so it will arrive for Xbox, PC and PS5 at the same time. The new game mode is a gauntlet mode, allowing you to test your combat skills through 30 stages of increasing difficulty. The additional story content also includes new areas of the map to explore and some of the game's cutscenes have been extended.
Given the touches to story content, it would seem that this is a ‘Director's Cut' update of sorts, making some adjustments and improvements over the course of the game.

KitGuru Says: Tango Gameworks has already impressed us once this year with Hi-Fi Rush, but it seems the studio will be surprising us once again. It will be interesting to see Ghostwire: Tokyo fleshed out further. Fingers crossed the additional story content is worth a second playthrough.
