Valve is working on a game featuring “ambitious never before seen gameplay” including puzzles

Ever since the Steam platform blew up in popularity we have seen Valve shift its focus away from primarily developing video games. Despite how it may appear, the team continues to work on new games, with a number of employees sharing the fact that Valve is currently hard at work on an unannounced title which is said to feature “ambitious never before seen gameplay” including puzzles.

As discovered by Twitter user Faizan Shaikh, Valve artist Boyang Zhu and game designer Michael Anderson updated their LinkedIn profiles, inadvertently revealing that the Half-Life and Portal creator is currently working on an unannounced title.

While Zhu’s profile offers little in the way of any additional information aside from the fact that the team is developing a new game, Anderson’s listing shows that Valve has been working on the title since 2021 and will feature “ambitious, never-before-seen gameplay” alongside “AI, player mechanic, and puzzles [developed] from scratch.”

While undoubtedly exciting, Valve is notorious for cancelling many in-development projects which never end up seeing the light of day – let alone an official announcement. Still, in the wake of Counter Strike 2’s recent announcement and the release of Half-Life Alyx back in 2020, it seems as though Valve is slowly but surely returning to game development. Hopefully this ‘ambitious’ title ends up being officially announced sooner or later.
