Kepler Interactive is a game publisher co-owned and run by its creators. Founded in 2021, the company has now shared details on its first year in operation, revealing that two of the publisher’s biggest titles – SIFU and Scorn – have had “hugely successful launches.”
Making the announcement via a press release, Kepler Interactive revealed that the publisher’s first year of operations saw them bring in over $50 million in revenue, with them claiming that 2022 “saw the hugely successful launches from founding studios Ebb Software (Scorn) and Sloclap (Sifu).”
Kepler did not offer any specific sales stats for Scorn, however it did reveal that the arena-fighting brawler SIFU has now officially sold over 2 million copies since its launch on PlayStation and the Epic Games Store back in February 2022 (with a Switch version arriving later in November of the same year).
This marks a continuation in the game’s strong performance following its initial launch period – which saw the game push over 1 million copies in just 3 weeks. With SIFU set to come to Steam and Xbox later this month it is safe to say that the game will only continue to go from strength to strength – especially thanks to Solclap’s ongoing and free post-launch support for the game.
For the uninitiated, Kepler Interactive offers a unique business model as a publisher, giving studios “a stake in the business and a leadership role in strategic decision-making, at the same time as preserving their creative independence, enabling them to make fun and commercially successful games appealing to a wide audience.”
