Xbox has been making a push for more licensed hardware releases. We've seen ‘Designed for Xbox' monitors previously and now, Microsoft is teaming up with ViewSonic to offer the world's first Xbox-minded 4K projectors.
Named X1-4K and X2-4K, these two LED projectors come with Xbox's original colour scheme (black and green), matching the look of the Xbox Series X. Both projectors offer Xbox-exclusive resolution and refresh rate combinations, as well as 4.2 ms Ultra-Fast Input.
The projectors are built with simple controls for ease of use. They're CEC (consumer electronics control) compliant, meaning that when the console is switched on, the projector is also turned on. Additionally, when connected through HDMI 2, the projector changes to game mode to reduce input lag.
With 4K resolution, HDR support and Harman Kardon speakers, the X1-4K and X2-4K were designed to provide a balanced audio-visual experience. The projectors produce 2,900 Lumens of brightness for clear pictures in any setting. They guarantee years of cheap maintenance and a 30,000-hour lifetime before needing a bulb replacement. This is also the world's first projector brand to earn TÜV SÜD's Low Blue Light certification.
These projectors are pretty versatile regarding installation. The X1-4K, with its standard throw ratio, is suited for ceiling-mounted installations, where it may save floor space and avoid obstacles. On the other hand, the short throw X2-4K can be put on a coffee table to project a 100-inch display from only 1.5m away.
