Genshin Impact put studio MiHoYo (now known as Hoyoverse) on the map, with the open-world free-to-play Zelda-like title raking in over $4 Billion since its release in late 2020. The team’s next game following Genshin Impact is the turn-based RPG ‘Honkai: Star Rail’. As part of a Boarding Preparation Special Program stream, the game was revealed to not only be launching next month, but that it will be seeing a console release.
Back in February we reported on a leak which seemed to suggest that the upcoming turn-based RPG would be releasing on the 26th of April. Now, as part of this most recent stream, the official release date was announced – and it is indeed set to launch across PC as well as iOS and Android at the tail end of April, with pre-load being made available from the 23rd.
In an exciting move, it was also announced that Honaki: Star Rail is currently in development for both PlayStation 4 and PS5, as was the case with 2020’s Genshin Impact – though no release date was offered for the console version.
As mentioned, Genshin Impact put Hoyoverse on the map, and with the studio bringing in Billions of Dollars since, it will be highly interesting to see how Honaki: Star Rail performs when it launches in one month’s time – and whether the team will be able to catch lightning in a bottle twice in a row.
