Earlier this month, Actor Lance Reddick unfortunately passed away. Reddick has not only had a lot of film and TV roles, but he was also well known in the gaming scene thanks to performances in titles like Quantum Break, Horizon Zero Dawn (and its sequel), and of course, Destiny 2, as the Titan leader Zavala. While Reddick won't be able to grace us with new performances, Bungie has said that the team plans to “honor his presence” in future updates.
Reddick had recorded unreleased lines of Zavala dialogue before his passing. This will be used by Bungie in future updates in Destiny 2, Bungie confirmed in its latest TWAB blog post.
“The tributes that have poured in for Lance have been overwhelming; from endless heartfelt messages on social media to impromptu gatherings of respect in Zavala’s corner of the Tower, overlooking the Last City. As an actor, musician, gamer, and family man, the passion Lance brought to the things he loved was reflected in the eyes and hearts of all who loved him”, Bungie writes.
“For now, we will honor his presence through his performances yet to come in the game, and in the memories that will last us a lifetime. We are deeply saddened by his passing but so thankful for the time we spent together, and our thoughts are with his friends and loved ones.”
Lance Reddick was a beloved member of the Destiny community and would regularly play the game alongside developers and fans alike.

KitGuru Says: We'll have to wait and see what Bungie has planned, but it would seem that Commander Zavala's story isn't over yet.
