Diablo 4 goes gold as Blizzard responds to beta feedback

Diablo 4's beta in March was a huge success for Blizzard, with millions of players logging into both the pre-order and open betas. Now, Blizzard has had time to go through feedback and implement a range of changes ahead of launch. Beyond that, Diablo 4 just hit a new milestone, officially going gold.

As of this week, Diablo 4 has gone gold, which essentially means the game is complete and ready to be turned into physical copies for consoles. Typically, this is a good sign that a game is going to release on its planned release date, although there are rare instances where a game has been delayed after ‘going gold', such as Cyberpunk 2077. Diablo 4 is due to release on the 6th of June for PC, Xbox Series X/S and PS5.

Aside from the new milestone announcement, Blizzard has also recently revealed some of the bigger changes it has made to the game following the beta in March. Based on feedback obtained through playtesting, Blizzard is making significant changes to dungeons to minimise the amount of backtracking needed to complete a dungeon, the team has also boosted the frequency of events in dungeons from 10% to 60%.

All of the classes have also had balance adjustments. Barbarians and necromancers are getting nerfed, with Barbarians dealing less damage and Necromanser's summoned minions having less health. Druids, Rogues and Sorcerers are getting buffs though, including increased skill bonuses, quicker cooldowns and lower mana costs.

There have also been changes made to other elements of the game, such as the UI and other Quality of Life changes, which you can find HERE.
