In 2022, CD Projekt Red successfully managed to turn Cyberpunk 2077 around, with continued patches and content additions polishing up the game, and the Edgerunners anime series helping to bring fans back to the game. Now, we're all waiting on the Phantom Liberty expansion, and it looks like CD Projekt Red will be announcing the release date in June.
June is typically the biggest month for video game announcements, thanks to events like Summer Game Fest, E3 (RIP) and conferences from major publishers, from Nintendo, Xbox and PlayStation to the likes of Ubisoft, EA and others. CD Projekt Red today has announced that it will be sharing its next major update on the Phantom Liberty expansion in June.

The Phantom Liberty expansion was unveiled with a short teaser trailer last Summer. The new expansion takes place before the final mission of the base game and will feature new and returning characters. While the base game brought us Keanu Reeves as Johnny Silverhand, the Phantom Liberty expansion will bring us Idris Elba as Solomon Reed.
The expansion is teased as a Spy Thriller and will be releasing for PC, Xbox Series X/S and PS5 this year. Given that we'll be getting a new trailer in June, we'd expect a Fall or Winter release date.

KitGuru Says: Night City is prime for more stories. We're likely only getting this one expansion for Cyberpunk 2077, but on the plus side, CD Projekt Red already has a small team preparing for a sequel in the years ahead.
