TMNT: The Cowabunga Collection has sold over 1 million copies

TMNT The Cowabunga Collection launched last year to great success, bringing together all of the classic Turtles titles into one attractive and modern package. In December, the collection received a massive update bringing online functionality to a bunch of games, new controller support and so much more. This continued support by the developers seems to be mirrored by the support of fans, as The Cowabunga Collection has now sold over 1 million copies.

Making the announcement on Twitter, publisher Konami said: “13 iconic TMNT titles, over 1 million copies sold! From lifelong fans, to newcomers experiencing the historic games for the first time – we hope you've enjoyed playing and exploring TMNT: The Cowabunga Collection. You all really kicked some shell.”

Alongside the announcement Konami released an infographic, showing that 350 million foot soldiers have been defeated; players have collectively saved the Turtles’ friends more than 1 million times, with Shredder himself being defeated more than 2 million times. Most importantly however, over 6 million pizzas have been eaten.

While perhaps not as fast-selling as the latest original TMNT Game (Shredder’s Revenge), 1 million copies sold is huge, and is further indication that the Turtles are officially back.
