Final Fantasy 16 gameplay will be revealed in State of Play stream this week

At this point, Final Fantasy 16 has gone gold and is well on its way towards its June release date. With the game now complete, it is time for Square Enix and Sony to give us another look at the next major game in the franchise.

State of Play will return on the 13th of April at 10PM GMT. The steam will last for around 20 minutes, showcasing new gameplay footage.

A few gameplay clips have recently been shared by Square Enix, showing off some of the animations and open world graphics. This latest reveal should be our best look at gameplay yet, although we can expect at least one more edited trailer before launch.

Final Fantasy 16 is launching as a PS5 exclusive on the 22nd of June. While the game is a timed exclusive for PS5, Square Enix has warned fans that it will take longer than six months to develop versions for additional platforms, particularly PC. With that in mind, we likely won't see this game on PC until some time in 2024. If Final Fantasy 7 Remake is anything to go by, it'll be late 2024.

KitGuru Says: Final Fantasy 15 felt like a letdown to me in many ways, so I'm hoping 16's linear approach will allow for more refined gameplay and storytelling. Will you be checking out the new gameplay later this week?
