Leak claims Nvidia will launch the RTX 4060 Ti this month

Nvidia has reportedly updated board partners on the status of their upcoming GeForce RTX 4060 series GPUs. While there is no confirmed launch date for either the RTX 4060 or RTX 4060 Ti, the latest leak, if accurate, indicates Nvidia will launch the 4060 Ti variant by the end of May.

According to the screenshot shared by VideoCardz showing the embargo timeline for the RTX 4060 series, the launch process for the RTX 4060 Ti has already begun, but shipping has yet to commence. The screenshot suggests that the green team will send these GPUs to the channel on May 5th.

VideoCardz also states that the RTX 4060 Ti will use the same board number (PG 190 SKU 361) as the RTX 3060 Ti, uncommon for next-gen GPU upgrades. This could lead to cheaper cards, as RTX 40 cards require less power, and the cooling suitable for RTX 3060 Ti should also work for the 4060 series. However, the RTX 4060 non-Ti uses a new board called PG173 (SKU 371).

As per the latest rumours, the RTX 4060 Ti will have a 160W TDP and pack an AD106 GPU with 4,352 CUDA cores, a base clock speed of 2,310 MHz and a boost clock speed of 2,535 MHz. For the memory, there should be 8GB of GDDR6 memory clocked at 18 Gbps across a 128-bit memory bus. The lower-tier RTX 4060 should feature a similar memory subsystem, but the GPU will reportedly only have 3,072 CUDA cores. Moreover, the TDP should be only 115W.

KitGuru says: Nvidia has not yet revealed any pricing information to board partners, but the use of the older PG190 board and the limited memory spec suggest that we might finally be seeing a budget RTX 40 Ada graphics card by the of May.
