Spider-Man 2 tipped for September launch

A few weeks ago we reported that the actor playing Venom in the upcoming Spider-Man 2 game by Insomniac claimed that the much-anticipated title would be arriving this September. Following this, an industry insider has corroborated the claims, stating that Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 will indeed be launching in September.

Back when Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 was first revealed, it was announced that the game’s primary protagonist Venom would be played by Tony Todd of Candyman fame. While Insomniac Games themselves have remained tight-lipped on the status of the upcoming game, Todd had shared multiple updates of him in motion capture studios, and has not been afraid to engage with fans online – ultimately leading to Todd claiming that Spider-Man 2 is set to release in September.

In discussing the recent announcement that Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is being delayed to 2024, trusted industry insider Jason Schreier took to Twitter to speak on the many reasons behind this decision; nonchalantly claiming that “Spider-Man 2 [releasing] in September could be a factor, too.”

2018’s Spider-Man released in September of that year and so it makes sense that Insomniac Games would want to hit a similar time frame – especially as the first game (alongside Miles Morales) ended up selling over 33 million copies. Leakers have claimed that Sony is prepping for a major showcase sometime during the E3 time period, and so hopefully we get our first proper look at the game there.
