Back in February, Intel began rolling out big performance-boosting drivers for its Arc graphics cards, greatly improving performance for a range of older DX9-based games. In our Arc re-test in March, we found that Intel's drivers have indeed come a long way, but there is still room for improvement. Now, Intel's latest update provides another notable performance bump, focusing on newer titles like Dead Space Remake.
Intel claims gamers can expect up to 63% higher performance with the new driver in Dead Space Remake. Intel has also shared benchmark results from other games, showcasing the performance uplift in F1 22, Dying Light 2, Dirt 5, and Deathloop. The numbers range from a 4% to 17% improvement, depending on the game settings. All games were tested using DX12 API and ray tracing.
Intel has also emphasised the affordability of its Arc A750 GPU. Now retailing at just $249, it's cheaper than the RTX 3060 12GB, which goes for around $388. Intel claims the Arc A750 GPU is 10% faster and offers up to 72% more performance per dollar (1440p resolution) than Nvidia GPUs in games like Total War Warhammer III, Minecraft Legends and the upcoming Dead Island 2.
The Intel Arc & Iris Xe Graphics 4311 is still in beta, but you can download it HERE. Although Intel only mentions the gains on the A750, this driver is also supported by the remaining Intel Arc mobile and desktop GPU lineup and several iGPU solutions of 11th, 12th and 13th Gen processors.
