Lords of the Fallen reportedly launching this October

Lords of the Fallen was one of the first major Souls-like titles to be released. Launched back in 2014, the game received mixed reviews across the board. The team at Hexworks announced last year that they have been working on a sequel titled ‘The Lords of the Fallen’. Since renamed to ‘Lords of the Fallen’ the sequel appears to be launching this October thanks to a new leak.

This latest leak comes from ‘Aggiornamenti Lumia’ who has in the past amassed a reputation for leaking Microsoft Store backend updates. According to the leaker, Lords of the Fallen will be releasing on the 13th of October – suggesting that we might see more from the game (as well as official confirmation of the release date) during the impending Summer Game Fest.

As mentioned, the first game launched back in 2014 to mixed reviews, with the game seemingly missing that FromSoftware touch. That said, the sequel does appear to be much more inspired, with its impressive tech and visuals no longer being the only draw to the game (as was somewhat the case with the original).

Souls-likes such as The Surge and Nioh both benefited from sequels which allowed the developers time to work on unique game mechanics, separating it further from the souls games that inspired it.

Hopefully Lords of the Fallen sees an equal jump in quality between the two titles. It seems we won’t have too long to wait in order to find out.
