After spending years in early access, the popular resource management game Satisfactory has finally gotten its 1.0 update – almost a decade on from its initial inception. With PC players finally able to experience Satisfactory in its entirety, the team are now shifting focus to a console release.
Announced during the game’s 1.0 release trailer, the team at Coffee Stain Studios teased the fact that Satisfactory will also be coming to consoles “soon™“ – alongside teasing controller support.
For the uninitiated, Satisfactory first launched in early access all the way back in 2019. Since then, the game has gotten a ton of support, with one of the biggest updates bringing the entire game over to Unreal Engine 5 – adding ray-tracing and more as a result.
Details on the console release remain light, though given the fact that it is expected to arrive ‘soon’ it’s safe to assume that work on this version has been ongoing for quite some time now.
One thing which will be interesting to see is whether the aforementioned RT features will be included in the console release – and whether there will also be a last-gen version of the game. Hopefully we won’t have to wait too long to find out.
