Asus says recent BIOS update won’t void AM5 motherboard warranty

Recently, Asus has received a lot of negative feedback due to concerns about the warranty for AM5 motherboards. Due to the BIOS overvolting certain AMD processors, customers ended up with damaged hardware and an updated BIOS containing the fix for this issue carried a warning that installing it would void your warranty. Now, Asus has issued a statement saying users affected by this issue will be covered.

In a post, Asus writes: “We want to address the concerns that have been raised by our users about whether recent BIOS updates will impact the warranty of ASUS AM5 motherboards. We would like to reassure our customers that both beta and fully validated BIOS updates for ASUS AM5 motherboards are covered by the original manufacturer’s warranty.”

Asus also says that its warranty covers all AMD EXPO, Intel XMP and DOCP memory configurations, which should hopefully put some users at ease. Still, there is much to be desired when it comes to Asus Support, as can be seen by the company's UK Trust Pilot rating.
