While none of the major console makers displayed much interest in returning to E3 this year, they do seem to be keen on Gamescom. Today, Nintendo announced its plans to attend Gamescom in August.
The organisers behind Gamescom confirmed that Nintendo is on board today (via VGC), promising to reveal more exhibitors in the coming weeks. The schedule for Gamescom seems to all be coming together now, so expect to see more announcements soon.
As has been the case for the last few years, there will be a Gamescom livestream prior to the physical event opening its doors in Germany. The live broadcast will be hosted by Geoff Keighley and will bring game announcements from many different publishers.
Nintendo only has one major first-party Switch exclusive on the way this year – The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, which releases in May. Chances are Nintendo will announce some major titles for Q4 during a Direct over the summer, which could provide a glimpse at what we'll see promoted by Nintendo at its Gamescom booth.

KitGuru Says: Nintendo typically doesn't exhibit at events unless it has something to show, so we can keep our fingers crossed for a big Switch exclusive to close out the year.
