Despite the growth in the popularity of QHD gaming monitors, many still opt for FullHD monitors, as they tend to offer higher refresh rates at a more affordable price. For those customers, Dell has released the Alienware AW2724HF, a new gaming monitor with a 360Hz refresh rate.
The Dell Alienware AW2724HF (Chinese website) features a 27-inch Fast IPS display with an FHD resolution, a typical brightness of 400 nits and a 1000:1 static contrast ratio. Gamers will appreciate the 360Hz refresh rate, AMD FreeSync Premium, and VESA AdaptiveSync Display certification that the monitor offers thanks to the additional fluidity of a higher refresh rate and lack of screen tearing. Additionally, the Alienware AW2724HF supports 10-bit colour bit depth and covers 99% of the sRGB colour space.
As a gaming monitor, the Alienware AW2724HF offers several preset modes, including FPS, MOBA/RTS, RPG, Sports, and three customisable game modes. It also supports Console Mode and overlay features such as Timer, Frame Rate, and Display Alignment to help gamers improve their performance and gain an advantage in-game. The monitor is also flicker-free and offers eye comfort features such as Dell's ComfortView Plus. Moreover, this model is TÜV Rheinland Low Blue Light certified.
Connectivity is also not an issue with the Dell Alienware AW2724HF. It has a USB-B 3.2 Gen 1 upstream port, 4x USB-A 3.2 Gen 1 downstream ports, an HDMI port, and two DisplayPorts. The refresh rate supported by the HDMI port is 255Hz, while the DisplayPort inputs support up to 360Hz. The stand is fully ergonomic, providing a bi-directional pivot, +/-20 degrees of swivel, -5 to 21 degrees of tilt, and 0-110 mm of height adjustment. The stand can also be removed for VESA wall mounting via 100x100mm holes. The monitor is now available in China for 6000 CNY (around £700).
