MSI’s upcoming GT77 Titan laptop will be world’s first with 4K/144Hz Mini LED display

The MSI Titan is returning in 2023 in new and improved form. This time around, MSI is laying claim to the title of the world's first 4K/144Hz Mini LED laptop.

In an announcement this week, MSI revealed that its new Titan GT77 laptop will be available with a 4K/144Hz Mini LED display option, making it the world's first laptop to sport such a display. Leo took a look at an early engineering sample of the new Titan GT77 back in October, but that version shipped with a 1080p/360Hz display instead, which is also a very impressive display in its own right.

The 4K/144Hz Mini LED panel comes from AU Optronics, packing AMLED Mini LED technology for super-bright backlighting, a wide colour gamut and decent HDR performance. The display has 1008 dimming zones, which should be enough to mitigate the ‘halo' effect from the backlighting. The display also covers 100% of the DCI-P3 colour spectrum, so everything should look super sharp.

The new MSI Titan GT77 laptop will launch at CES 2023. We'll be heading over to Vegas to cover the show in the new year, so stay tuned for more coverage from us starting next week.
