Tango Gameworks’ next title will feature multiplayer

Ever since the release of their first game back in 2014, Tango Gameworks have been known for developing tense 3rd-person survival horror titles. That said, in the past few years the team has spread its wings, creating an open world action-horror first-person shooter (Ghostwire Tokyo) and most recently a comedic 3rd-person rhythm game (Hi-Fi RUSH). The studio’s experimentation seems to be continuing as Tango’s next game looks to be including some form of multiplayer.

As discovered by Tech4Gamers, Tango Gameworks recently published a job listing for an Environment Designer, in which one of the required skills states “experience in multiplayer game development.”

With none of Tango Gameworks’ other titles including multiplayer in any capacity, it is interesting to see the team taking their next game in a new direction. As mentioned, following the release of The Evil Within 2 in 2017, Tango Gameworks has seen a shift in its mentality, with the studio working on a wide variety of titles across very different genres.

While this latest job listing does not prove that Tango’s next game will be a multiplayer title, it does suggest that the game will take on a new direction for the studio.

It will be interesting to see whether these multiplayer elements are for the rumoured JRPG – or if it is for the studio’s lesser-known second title said to also be in development. We will have to wait and see.
