Grounded 1.2 update goes live alongside Steam Deck verification

Grounded is one of the more interesting titles published by Xbox Game Studios. Developed by Obsidian Entertainment, this ‘Honey I Shrunk the Kids’ styled survival game spent many years in Early Access, with the title finally going 1.0 in September of last year. The team have continued to work on the game – with the 1.2 “Super Duper Update” now being officially released.

Making the announcement on the Xbox blog, Shyla Schofield, Senior Communications Manager at Obsidian Entertainment officially detailed Grounded’s 1.2 update, saying “Rightfully titled the Super Duper update, this massive update brings with it many quality-of-life changes, more than 100 new items to craft, a brand new Base Coziness feature, and the terrifying new wasps.”

One of the primary new additions is the ‘Super Duper’ machine which will allow players to duplicate items alongside all their upgrades, making for much easier co-op sessions.

A new ‘Coziness’ mechanic has also been added in which buildings, furniture, and decorations now add to the coziness level of your base – allowing you to unlock even more items for your base.

Perhaps the biggest addition with this update is the new wasp enemy. Invading the garden, wasps and drones now guard mini hives – as well as a main nest somewhere in the garden where the Wasp Queen boss resides.

Finally, the team also announced that as of update 1.2 Grounded is now Steam Deck verified. What’s more, even if you do not own the game, you can download Grounded on your Steam Deck for free as the game is getting an open-weekend starting tomorrow on the 27th of April (and will run until the 1st of May).
