So far, the only thing Asus has officially revealed about the ROG Ally's price point is that it will be under $1000. An official announcement is due in May, but a leaker claims to already know the price for the Z1 Extreme version.
Twitter leaker SnoopyTech recently claimed that the ROG Ally Z1 Extreme version would launch at $699.99. A screenshot of the Best Buy website also shows this price point, which lends some credence to the rumour.
Asus confirmed that the ROG Ally would be powered by the Z1 and Z1 Extreme APUs from AMD earlier this week. You can see the basic specs for both chips below:
Model | Cores/Threads | Graphics | Cache |
AMD Ryzen Z1 Extreme | 8/16 | 12 AMD RDNA 3 compute units |
24 MB |
AMD Ryzen Z1 | 6/12 | 4 AMD RDNA 3 compute units |
22 MB |
For comparison, the Steam Deck starts at $399 for the 64GB version, while the 512GB version comes in at $649, just a tad cheaper than Asus's Z1 Extreme-powered version, which will offer a more powerful APU than the Steam Deck.
Asus will be officially launching the ROG Ally on the 11th of May, at which point the full spec sheet and price point will be made official.
