Star Wars Jedi Survivor was one of the most anticipated games of the year. Unfortunately, its launch was hampered by a great deal of issues across the board on both consoles and PCs. Bugs aside, the game seems to be a great improvement on all fronts, and so it is not surprising to see the sequel’s digital sales doubling that of Fallen Order.
As reported by gamesindustry.biz’s Christopher Dring “Although physical sales were down, with the digital data, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor actually beat Star War Jedi: Fallen Order's launch sales by over 30%. This is because Survivor's digital accounted [for] almost double what Fallen Order managed.”
It is worth noting that these sales figures pertain to its performance in the UK and nowhere else – though such trends are typically somewhat similar across markets.
Jedi Survivor’s sales are doubly impressive when considering the fact that the game was released exclusively on PC and current-gen platforms (PS5 and Series X|S) – meaning it managed to blow past its predecessor with far fewer systems available.
It is a shame for Star Wars Jedi: Survivor to have launched in the state that it did, especially with how successful the game is proving to be. Hopefully EA and Respawn Entertainment are able to fix as many of the issues present as soon as possible.
