Dragon Ball FighterZ and Xenoverse 2 both sold over 10 million copies

The Dragon Ball franchise has been producing video games for decades, creating many well-known and loved series, including the 3D fighter ‘Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2’ as well as the Arc System Works-developed Dragon Ball FighterZ. Speaking of, it has now been announced that both titles have sold over 10 million copies each.

Making the announcement on Twitter (and translated by the platform), the official Dragon Ball gaming account revealed that “Thanks to everyone who has supported us so far, both titles [Xenoverse 2 and FighterZ] have achieved 10 million units! To express our gratitude, we will hold a 10 million commemorative campaign from today!”

In going to their blog for additional details the team announced that “To celebrate the 10 million units shipped of Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 worldwide, we're holding special raid events and campaigns! * Including the download version * BNE research. It will be a chance to get special costumes that will appear for the first time, so please join us!” The full list of commemorative events can be found HERE.

As an anime, Dragon Ball remains one of the most popular of all time – despite it first being published all the way back in 1984, and so it is not too surprising to see these titles selling so well. Still, the success is notable – and begs the question as to what else Dragon Ball publisher Bandai Namco has in the works. It will be interesting to see how well the upcoming Dragon Ball Z Budokai Tenkaichi 4 performs.
