Assassin’s Creed Mirage seemingly not coming to Steam

After years away from the platform, Ubisoft announced last year that it would begin to bring its published titles back to the Steam PC platform. Since then, we have seen the likes of Roller Champions; ‘Scott Pilgrim vs The World – the video game’ and pretty much all other missing titles find their way onto Steam. That said, in a surprising move, it seems as though the upcoming Assassin’s Creed Mirage may not be coming to Steam after all.

Following the official gameplay trailer released during Sony’s PlayStation Showcase, Ubisoft updated its Assassin’s Creed Mirage website, adding new details including the list of platforms which the game is said to be coming to.

According to Ubisoft’s site, Assassin’s Creed Mirage will release on PlayStation 5; PS4; Xbox Series X|S; Xbox One; Ubisoft Connect; Amazon Luna and Epic Games. Notably, there is no mention of Steam anywhere, suggesting that as with all of its previous releases in recent years, Assassin’s Creed Mirage will spend at least some time exclusive to the Epic Games Store (and Ubisoft Connect) on PC.

It would be odd for Ubisoft to once again make a title exclusive, especially after announcing their return to Steam mere months ago. Hopefully the absence of Steam is simply a mistake, and that AC: Mirage launches day-and-date on Steam. We will have to wait and see.
