LG introduces new 5K Nano IPS 40-inch ultrawide monitor

LG is expanding its monitor lineup with a new ultrawide curved monitor for professionals. Based on its specs alone, the 40WP95CP-W looks like a good choice for anyone looking for a big curved screen, especially considering it has a 5120×2160 resolution.

The LG 40WP95CP-W packs a 39.7-inch Nano IPS curved display with a typical contrast ratio of 1000:1, 5120×2160 resolution, 5ms G2G response time, and a 10-bit colour depth. Capable of covering 90% of the DCI-P3 gamut, the monitor tops out at a brightness of 300 cd/m² and has a maximum refresh rate of 72Hz, with support for AMD FreeSync. The display can be daisy-chained with a second, identical display. However, this drops the refresh rate down to 60Hz on both panels.

The monitor has many other features, including support for HDR 10 content, an HDR effect display mode, flicker-free technology, Black Stabilizer, and Auto Input Switch. Moreover, it supports PbP, PiP, hardware calibration, Dynamic Action Sync and low-blue light mode. Furthermore, the display comes factory-calibrated out-of-the-factory.

Connectivity options include a single DisplayPort 1.4, two HDMI ports, a pair of USB 3.0 ports, and a headphone jack. It also features a Thunderbolt 4 interface that can deliver up to 96W of power, enough to power most notebooks without a discrete GPU. Additionally, the display has a pair of integrated 10W speakers and a stand that allows for height, tilt, and swivel adjustments. The monitor can be found in retailers for around €1,400.
