COD Warzone Mobile delayed to the end of 2023

Following the massive success of Call of Duty Warzone, Activision announced that a mobile port of the free-to-play battle royale game was in development. Initially intended to launch this month, the game has now been delayed to the end of the year.

Those who pre ordered Call of Duty Warzone Mobile on iOS recently received an email from Apple announcing the delay of the game, saying:

“Hello, Thank you for pre-ordering Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile on the App Store. We wanted to let you know that the developer, Activision Publishing, has moved the launch to a later date. The game is now expected to be released by November 1, 2023.”

For the uninitiated, Call of Duty Mobile is already an app which has existed for years, and has even amassed an audience of over half a billion players. That said, Warzone Mobile is meant to serve as a more direct port of the console/PC experience, offering cross-progression, the same weapons as the console variant and more.

Since its official announcement back in March of 2022, the game has seen a few limited test releases, particularly in regions including Australia, Sweden, Norway and Chile.

Mobile devices are pretty powerful these days, and in many instances (just look at Genshin Impact) are more than capable of running console games with few compromises. Hopefully the delay of Warzone Mobile helps to make for a more polished experience when the game does finally release on the 1st of November.
