Nintendo’s support for its Switch Online service has been somewhat inconsistent ever since it first went live back in 2018. That said, the subscription service has slowly but surely been filled up with a number of quality titles. Joining the NSO library next week is the Super Mario Advance Trilogy.
Making the announcement, Nintendo said “Super Mario Advance, Super Mario World: Super Mario Advance 2 and Yoshi’s Island: Super Mario Advance 3 games will be available for everyone with a Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack membership as part of the Game Boy Advance – Nintendo Switch Online library.”
These three titles are joining the already included Super Mario Advance 4: Super Mario Bros. 3, meaning the full series will soon be available on Nintendo Switch Online.
For the uninitiated, the Super Mario Advance series is a port of Mario’s first big adventures but adapted to work on the Game Boy Advance screen, while also offering some enhancements in the form of “improved graphics, sound, and additional features.”
While the home console ports of these games are already available on the service, the Super Mario Advance series was a big facet of the GBA’s identity and so it makes sense to include it as part of the NSO’s library. The May update for Nintendo Switch Online will go live on the 26th.
