BlizzCon will return this November

Blizzard hasn't had a chance to host a physical BlizzCon event since 2019. Back then, both Diablo 4 and Overwatch 2 were announced and now in 2023, both of those games are set to release. Blizzard will have more to show and announce later in the year though, as the company has announced plans for BlizzCon to return in November.

BlizzCon will be returning to its usual home at the Anaheim Convention Center in California on the 3rd of November. Speaking on the announcement, Blizzard said: “Our players are at the heart of what makes BlizzCon great–a place where games are the common ground for connection and friendship. Whether you’re coming to hang out with friends you only ever get to see online, celebrating epic moments in the games we love, exploring what’s on offer in the convention centre halls, or eager to learn what’s next for our universes,  BlizzCon is being created for you.”

Blizzard has a number of projects on the go internally. We could potentially get a teaser for the company's upcoming untitled survival game, or perhaps another secret new IP. It is also likely that we hear a bit more about what's next for WoW, as we'll be a year removed from the launch of the MMO's last expansion, Dragonflight.

BlizzCon used to be a highly celebrated event but it was caught in a ton of controversy in recent years due to sexual harassment allegations at Blizzard, with some of those instances taking place at the annual BlizzCon event. Hopefully, Blizzard has cleaned up its act since then.

KitGuru Says: This will be the first in-person BlizzCon in four years, so hopefully Blizzard has something special planned for the occasion.
