Ubisoft is reportedly targeting an early 2024 release for its highly anticipated open-world Star Wars game. Developed by Ubisoft Massive, the game is slated to launch within the company's fiscal year, ending on March 31st, 2024.
Despite the report, sources from Kotaku have cautioned that this timeline might be too ambitious. They anticipate a delay to the game's launch, pushing it to the following fiscal year, ending in March 2025.
The upcoming game from Ubisoft Massive has garnered significant attention since its announcement in January 2021. It is being developed using the Snowdrop engine, which is also responsible for powering The Division series and Ubisoft Massive's forthcoming title, Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora. The Star Wars game is described as a story-driven, open-world experience.
Ubisoft has a busy schedule for the current fiscal year, with a lineup that includes notable titles such as Assassin's Creed Mirage, Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Mobile, Tom Clancy's The Division Resurgence, Skull and Bones, The Crew Motorfest, XDefiant, and an undisclosed “large game.” Fans will have the opportunity to catch a glimpse of many of these upcoming releases during Ubisoft Forward, scheduled for June 12th.
