In the days leading up to the PlayStation Showcase, rumours began to spring up claiming that we would finally see the much-anticipated Metal Gear Solid 3 Remake. Nearly two-decades on from its original launch, Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater was finally shown off.
Teased via a cinematic trailer, Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater “brings unprecedented new graphics, immersive stealth action gameplay and sounds to its riveting story as players once again return to the world of Metal Gear.”
Interestingly, very few details were shared about the game itself. In fact, we don’t even know which studio is in charge of this remake. That said, at the very least it was confirmed that the game will be coming to PlayStation 5 as well as Xbox Series X|S and PC.
For those who cannot wait for more Metal Gear, Konami also announced that they will finally be bringing the complete saga to modern systems via the Metal Gear Solid Master Collection.
Arriving in Autumn of this year, Volume 1 of the collection includes the original Metal Gear Solid alongside MGS 2: Sons of Liberty and the original version of Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater. Presumably a second volume will follow in the future, bringing the rest of the series to modern systems.
