The Crew Motorfest launches in September, beta tests happening in July

It has been a while since Ubisoft's open world racing series, The Crew, appeared in headlines. The series has proven to be popular, with over 40 million players so far. This year, the publisher hopes to take it to the next level with The Crew Motofest.

Developed under the codename ‘Project Orlando', Motorfest began life as The Crew 3 but eventually morphed into this slightly different spin on the series. The game was briefly announced a few months ago but this week at Ubisoft Forward, the publisher unveiled a new gameplay trailer and release date.

The Crew Motorfest is set on a Hawaiian island and promises a diverse lineup of vehicles to drive around in. Those who pre-order the game will get an instant unlock for the Toyota GR Supra 2021 LBWK Edition. If you want to play the game ahead of its release, there will be a closed beta test in July and sign-ups are open.

The Crew Motorfest will release for PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4 and PS5. On PC, the game will be launching via the Ubisoft Store, the Epic Games Store and Steam, as Ubisoft has finally begun supporting Valve's platform once again.

KitGuru Says: Will any of you be picking up The Crew Motorfest in September? At this point, Forza Horizon seems to be the go-to open-world racing game but The Crew has the advantage of being multiplatform, so it will be interesting to see how they compare.
