The Lara Croft Collection announced for Nintendo Switch

Lara Croft is one of the earliest and most iconic video game mascots, with the character finding her way into many different creative mediums. Unfortunately, despite its popularity, no Lara Croft games have been released for the Nintendo Switch – until now with the aptly-named The Lara Croft Collection.

First thing’s first, no this is not the rebooted Tomb Raider Trilogy coming to Switch – though that would be exciting. Instead, The Lara Croft Collection brings together Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light and Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris – two isometric multiplayer-focused non-linear titles which sees you take control of Lara Croft using twin-stick mechanics for a truly different feeling Tomb Raider experience.

The first entry in the series was released all the way back in 2010, with Temple of Osiris following up later in 2014. Due to the games’ scope and age, the Lara Croft Collection on the Nintendo Switch will cost a relatively modest £19.99 when it is released later this month on the 29th of June.

The synopsis for the two titles reads as follows: “Penetrate dense jungles and navigate elaborate Aztec ruins in Lara Croft & the Guardian of Light, and investigate the cursed tombs of ancient pharaohs in Lara Croft & the Temple of Osiris. Blast through hordes of supernatural foes, overcome intricate Challenge Tombs, beat high scores, and equip yourself with a massive arsenal of unlockable weapons, equipment, and magical artifacts.”
